2006 LSU Comments. Thank you to all those that sent us a note.

Terry,
I just wanted to thank you for organizing such a fanstistic
race! It was my first ultra, and by far, the hardest race I
have ever run! I have completed Leg 4 of the Deathrace three
times, and I would take Hamel any day over your course! I can't
wait until next year.
Chris
Hi Terry
--
Just wanted to say thank you for a great race, and thank you
for your help and advice at Pavan -- I know I would have dropped
out without your medical care (ice works wonders!!)
I had a really strong finish, and it wouldn't have happened
without you. Thanks to Marcie for all her help at the race,
too, and congratulations on a great run!

Hello Terry!
I wanted
to be one of the first people to send in a comment to thank
you and your long list of incredible volunteers for organizing
and putting on the best race I have ever been to!
Absolutely
everything about the Lost Souls race was positively Stellar!
I cant rave enough about the race, the city, the beautiful
scenery, the support, the volunteers, the food, the value of
the race!!! It was the most incredible race experience I have
ever had. I was absolutely blown away the entire weekend. There
was so much support throughout the weekend. During the race
I enjoyed taking my time and took in the exquisite scenery and
the unique trail sightings as I ran to the next aid station.
Each station was like a buffet of treats of everything runners
love. The friendly and humorous volunteers treat you like royalty
and are thrilled to accommodate any possible wish you may possibly
have. I only wish I could repeat the experience every Saturday.
Running and eating are two of my favorite activities. Everyone
should do this race at lease once. I guarantee they shall want
to come back many times!
Thank you
from the bottom of my heart for a truly memorable race and weekend!
I loved every moment of the race experience! You should be so
proud and honored of the Lost Souls Ultra!!!
Warmest
Regards,
Keri
I just wanted
to extend a thanks to you, the other organizers, and all the
volunteers. I was dreading the Lost Soul all year first
because Id never done a marathon and had never run more
than 35km, and I thought running in Lethbridge would be boring
.
I was one of the scum that signed up last minute only because
everybodys doing it!! (I am part of Hugh Magills
trail running group).
MAN was
I ever wrong! That was, bar none, the best race I have ever
done. I thought the course was FANTASTIC and incredible, loved
the scenery, the organization was stellar, the aid stations
were nicely spaced with good food, and the volunteers were great!!
Liked the venue too at the Lethbridge lodge.
In any case,
I wish all races were run as well as your race. I really enjoyed
myself and it was a life changing experience. Who knew I would
LOVE ultras?? SWEET! I cant wait to actually put in some
distance training next year so I can compete with the top three
women!!
Thanks again,
You rock
(so to speak, huh huh)

Terry,
Great race - very tough for me, but that's what its all about.
It only took three people at airport security to find a person
of sufficient resposibility to 'allow' the rock on board.
Could I buy another 100 mile race jacket size small? I'd be
happy to pay for it and postage to me at:
Robert Gryfe
Mount Sinai Hospital
600 University Avenue, Suite 455
Toronto, ON
M5G 1X5
As a gesture, I'd be happy to send you all my dead toe nails
as they come off one by one - predict three on the right &
one on the left!
Thanks for everything and please extend a big thanks to your
fantastic volunteers.
Rob
Hi Terry,
Thanks again
to you and your army of first-class volunteers. This was
my first attempt at 100 miles, and even though I did get my
ass beat up
"rreeeaall good" I eventually finished and tons of
fun while I was
there. On an overall and on a per-mile basis, this was without
doubt
the hardest race I have run. "The Rock" will be proudly
displayed at my
house.
Please express
my profound gratitude to each and every one of the
volunteers, and also to the two young men who manned the unofficial
water station on the farm, without whose assistance I'd have
run out of
water long before reaching the water station at the Lafarge
plant on
Saturday.
Regards,
Bill Kossmann
Just wanted
to thank you and all your volunteers for a great event! This
was my second go at 100k and found both times to be an
extreme test which is good!
Barry Hopkins
Terry,
What an event you guys put on. I knew it would be tough after
running some of your trails when visiting Gerry and Kathy. I
had never
run that far before and in the end only ran about 45 k resorting
to
walking and slugging the rest. Hills and hills and then down
them as
well.
You guys did great and the volunteers were lifesavers,
Knowing they would be there after 16km stretches with food and
drink
and what ever else I needed was very reassuring. I evan asked
for
coffee at one station and was given someones Tim Hortons . Wow
! !
Please let them know as well as you can how much more they do
with out
knowing that they are,
Hope to see you next year as I have a couple of more rocks to
get ! ! ! !
Ron Villeneuve
Hi Terry,
Thanks for a great race last weekend. You put together a tough,
but beautiful and interesting course. We must have had every
possible surface underfoot - dirt, grass, paved, gravel loose
sand, river rock, with varied scenery, and great views. But
the thing that really made this race stand out for me was the
great, friendly, community atmosphere, with the race directors,
volunteers, racers, and supporters feeling like one big happy
family. Impressive selection of food at the aid stations too.
After a few hours running you never know what it is that you
will be able to eat, and the aid station captains did a great
job of providing a wide selection so there was something for
everybody. I particularly enjoyed the salmon and potatos at
Pavan!
Cheers,
Miles Tindal
Hi Terry
I just wanted to say a HUGE thank you to you and your amazing
crew of volunteers for putting on a great race. Although lost
souls humbled me as a runner, I'll be back to claim my revenge......
and maybe a smaller rock (mine is 35 pounds!!!!) haha!
Your organizational skills as a team of race directors is impressive.
I can't say enough about this great race. Thank you and your
team for the experience and supporting my racing dreams.
Krista
Terry.
Just wanted
to say thanks for an ultra well organized event.
I have only
run road ultras and short distance X-Cs before, so I did not
know what to really expect in terms of a race that combines
ultra with X-C. In any event, my expectations (what-ever they
were) were exceeded. The aid stations were terrific in terms
of friendly volunteers and great supplies, the family running
the start/finish tent were awesome in terms of answering questions
and generally being eager to help everyone, the awards breakfast
was delicious and the rocks are truly unique.
I am part
of the organizing team for the Calgary Marathon, so I understand
how much work these things are to pull off. I tip my hat (sweaty
as it is) to you guys.
I certainly
plan to be back next year.
Rob Stichbury
Terry, you guys in Lethbridge should be commended (committed
maybe) for another great race with fantastic organization &
volunteers as usual. Under the brutal conditions you threw at
us this year, I may follow Neil Runions to Badwater where it
is a little cooler. I wonder if you still have the aid station
splits available as I would like to see them to assess where
I needed to make up some time. I would be grateful for your
assistance.
Sign me
up for next year,
Wayne
